Interface Overhaul: Low-Tech Grunge Sci‑Fi

Rebuilding the core layout into a left gameplay column + right status panel, with station navigation that feels like places.

We rebuilt the layout to support how the game actually plays: you need the main view, navigation, and feedback in one place—while your status, minimap, and quick info live in a compact right-side panel.

The goal is simple: make the interface feel like part of the universe. Buttons are now “actions,” destinations feel like “places,” and everything leans into low-tech grungy space hardware.

What changed

  • Left column now owns the experience: view + actions + flash feedback.
  • Right column becomes “ship systems”: minimap placeholder, accordions for stats/inventory/logs.
  • Station navigation reads like movement through decks and concourses.

Next: combat pacing, scan action outcomes, and real minimap data.
